Resolv CEO Denies Insider Involvement in $80M Token Exploit
Resolv Labs co-founder Ivan Kozlov has publicly addressed the recent exploit that allowed an attacker to mint 80 million USR tokens. The breach occurred through a compromised private key controlling a privileged minting role—a single-point failure with no multisig protection or on-chain mint cap.
"At this stage, we have not found any evidence suggesting this was an insider-related incident," Kozlov stated, dispelling circulating rumors. His measured tone throughout the four-minute video update reflected legal constraints, with Resolv having engaged law firms Paul Hastings and Carey Olson for counsel.
The recovery process remains opaque, with Kozlov acknowledging limitations in communication: "We have to keep these statements strict and specific to avoid unactionable claims." The incident highlights systemic vulnerabilities in unprotected admin keys—a cautionary tale for DeFi projects.
